6th Annual Maryland State Girls Chess Championship

Come out and play in an all-girl environment - limited to Maryland girl residents in grades K-12. Number of rounds and time control may change based on number of players.

Championship (National Qualifier): K-12 Open, 4SS, G/65; Winner of this section will be 2010 Maryland Girls Champion. Junior Grand Prix points offered for this section only.

Reserve: K-12 U800 or unrated, 5SS, G/30.

Novice: K-12 U500 or unrated, 5SS, G/30.

Sets and boards provided; please bring a chess clock. Prizes to be determined.

US Chess Federation membership is required. New USCF members are encouraged to join the USCF online beforehand to obtain a USCF ID number and to speed up check-in. Go to http://www.uschess.org and click on "Join/Renew" at top of page.

Entry Fees: $20 if received by 1/23 (online or mail); $25 if received by 1/28 (online or mail); $30 1/29 or at door.

Check-in: 9:00-9:50am. Please call me if you will be late arriving.

Rounds: Round 1: Championship @ 9:30am; Reserve/Novice @ 10am. Subsequent rounds to follow immediately. Tournament should end around 5:30pm. Lower sections likely will end earlier.

Mail Registration: if postmarked by 1/26, please mail player name, section, USCF number, grade, school, phone, and email plus check to Chris Kim; 3903 N Charles St; Baltimore, MD 21218.

Food will be provided on site. Please use either the lower parking lot or the parking spaces in front of the school (numbered or Visitor).

Directions: From the North: Take 695 to I-83 South. Use the Northern Parkway East exit and follow instructions below.

From the South: Take I-83 North to Northern Parkway East exit. Follow Northern Parkway to the second traffic light (top of steep hill) and turn right onto Roland Avenue. The School is at the next traffic light on the right about 1/3 of a mile from Northern Parkway. If you drive under a pedestrian bridge, you've gone too far - turn around.
